Google has changed in the way it shows rankings. I show up in the number 2 position on page 1.
But this is not real. It is only like that on my computer.
How can I check my ranking now?
Is there a way to tell Google not to do this?
How is this going to affect my tools?
I use Ranking Manager.

Easy… sign out of your google account… top right hand corner. You will see what everybody else sees. Or use another browser that you have never logged into.

http://rankchecker.net/ is a great tool. Download the toolbar from www.seomoz.org- it doesn’t show your ranking but shows all kinds of other good info that is helpful for bettering your SEO.

I use a few programs,
SEO Elite
Ranking Manager
Noble Samari
Web CEO
Keyword Elite
But going back to Google rankings…
In order for me to see my true ranking I have had to do this through Random Proxy’s.
I really hate having to do that to run reports.
I was hoping that others might have some ideas.
Sounds obvious but have you tried just logging out of google before doing your searches? I think i read somewhere that it will then return the true search ie not affected by your usage patterns. There is also i belive a setting in the google account itself

Semfreak – what about the Alexa toolbar (http://www.alexa.com/toolbar)? Now, in one sense, it’s not a ‘true’ ranking but it gets you close to the information you need to know about your site as well as competitors site. The one downfall I see is that the toolbar only tracks info of those who have it installed on their device.
I also agree with spacecowboy, in that logging out should change your search and not be dictated by your usage patterns. I’ve seen this a time or two when working with clients.
