Does Paid Link Building Really Work?

I’ve heard of people paying for backlinks from other websites as a way to increase inbound links, thereby improving Google PageRank.

I’ve seen a posting for such a job on sites that say something like this:

I am looking for someone to build me 100 permanent 1 way backlinks.

The pages the links are placed on must meet the following criteria:

Must NOT include a NOFOLLOW tag on the link

Must have a page rank of 2 or higher for the actual paqe the link is on and not the site overall

Ideally the links should be X related

The links must be anchor text links containing the link text I give you

Let’s put aside the ethics question of this job posting, and instead focus on the process itself. Does this work?

Will it work even in forums and blogs, if the NOFOLLOW tag is not used in the HREF?

This small research clearly shows that even a limited number of paid links can make quiet a difference for a website in search engine rankings.

I agree with Dominik. Great link references. +1

If: a) the backlinks are created on sites that are not known link farms but are content-related, b) the links are valid, real anchor text links, and c) they are permanent, I see no reason why Google or other search engines would not view them as “real” links, regardless of how they were procured.

Yes its really work, but the Manual link Building work & link comes form Quality & Relevant Website of your site. Page Rank is a factor, But the link comes from  high Page Rank but page is not relevant is not useful for longtime. On the other way link from Quality & Relevant website & low  Page Rank has more weight age. So always try for quality & Relevant sites for link exchange or Link Building, because the Page Rank is not constant it will change.

They do as long as you partner with a firm that knows what they’re doing. I got a quote the other day from a linkbuilding firm who really examined my website and showed me places which were relevant to me and my website. It’s so important to get relevant links, otherwise Google will think something’s up.

Yes, yes, yes…. paid links will work. The transparency and ease of discovery (by the engines) can trip you up potentially, but links from high authority sites will help your site.
